1. Our privacy-first approach

You do not need to create an account, provide a phone number, or enter an email address to use our cost calculators or quote tools. Unlike lead-generation sites, we do not sell your contact details to contractors.

2. What we collect — and what we don't

• You do not need to give us your name, phone number, email, or mailing address to use the calculators or the quote analyzer, and we do not sell contact details to contractors.
• Calculator estimates are computed in your browser. If you choose to "Save" a project, that project summary is also sent to and stored on our server so it can sync to your dashboard.
• Quote analyzer: when you submit a proposal, the quote text is sent to our server and to a third-party AI provider to generate your audit (see §4). The finished audit result is also cached in your browser (localStorage) for your convenience.

3. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider and analytics may automatically log standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages visited. This is used to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and understand aggregate usage.

4. Quote Analyzer processing

When you submit a contractor quote to the Quote Analyzer, the text is sent to our server and to a third-party AI provider (OpenRouter) solely to generate your audit. We do not use this text to build an advertising profile about you. Please avoid pasting sensitive personal information into quote text.

5. Cookies and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality and to measure traffic. We may display third-party advertising (including Google AdSense). Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings or via aboutads.info.

6. Third-party services

We rely on third parties such as our hosting/CDN provider, analytics, an AI provider for quote audits, and advertising partners. Each processes data under its own privacy policy.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to opt out of certain processing. Because we intentionally collect very little personal data, most requests can be handled by clearing your browser storage. For anything else, contact us.

8. Children

HomeJobCost is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
